[ At some point in time, Slade located his son's hotel room. Because of course he did. Contact between the two of them had been limited at best. Beyond seeing that his son is alive and in one piece, Slade hadn't made too much of an effort to check in on his son's every move. It's like old times, seeing Slade once a month at best, and hoping that he isn't holed up in a ditch somewhere for the other twenty-nine days.

There's no telling how long it took for him to pick the lock to this room, or how many shocks he suffered for the unlawful act of breaking and entering. But whenever Joey returns to his room next, there's a shiny new record player laid on his table. Beside it, a small stack of three vinyl records.

There's no note, no signs of forced entry, no indicators of anything else being disturbed in the process. For all intents and purposes, Slade was never here. ]

[Joey spends a good five minutes staring at this text trying to decipher its meaning, because Slade Wilson doesn't make small talk and he especially doesn't text his kids just for the sake of texting them.]
